The initial idea was to organize an event that would involve all of RACLB’s new friend clubs: Rotaract Club of Trace College Los Baños, a suspended club also sponsored by the Rotary Club of Los Baños which RACLB is currently helping to become active again and six of the Rotaract Clubs sponsored by the Rotary Club of Makati Olympia which recently became RACLB’s sister clubs. Finally, the members came to realize that most of the members of the friend clubs are probably not as exposed to nature as the members of RACLB. This led to the decision that the event would an environmental awareness camp.
Three of these friend clubs were able to send delegates to the event. These clubs were the Rotaract Club of Trace College Los Baños, the Rotaract Club of Makati Olympia, and the Rotaract Club of Folkloric Dance Ensemble. The event was held last October 26-27 2013 at Bahay na Bato, Balayhangin, Calauan, Laguna. The program was somewhat similar to a RYLA but more focused on how to care for the environment. It consists of discussions about environmental awareness from New Gen. Director/Past President Bobby Bautista and about group management from Immediate Past President Bert Tagalog of the Rotary Club of Los Baños. Two members from the Rotaract Club of Calamba Central were also present in the event to assist RACLB as facilitators of the camp.
